The Moche route: Chiclayo and Trujillo

The most important pre-Columbian cultures of the northen of Peru.

See the marvelous legacy of the ancient Peruvians on the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Learn how they rode the waves in boats made of tortora reeds, how they captured portraits and even models of their homes in the form of ceramic vessels, how they developed advanced metallurgical techniques that were superior to those known in Europe at the time, and how they built enormous structures from only water and mud, all of this achieved before the year 800 BCE. Experience examples of all of this in the Museum of the Royal Tombs of the Señor de Sipán, in the archeological complex El Brujo (where the Dama de Cao is located), and in America’s biggest adobe city, Chan Chan.
